If you are funding several IRAs, the SDIRA is subject to the same limits. 2nd, you can choose to complete a rollover. An IRA rollover involves the transfer of funds from an existing IRA or prior employer 401(k). Consult your custodian before making a transfer. ** Special note: check with your IRA or 401(k) representative and see if you are allowed 1 transfer per year or multiple. This will be important to make sure you have enough money in the SDIRA to purchase the metals necessary to diversify or hedge your portfolio.
3. Choose Your Precious Metals Dealer - once you have your account funded you can choose a gold or silver dealer. I went through the entire investment process with Monetary Gold (MG) and it went great until I received my statement and realized it was 50% less than my investment. When I contacted MG they told me a line of lies as to why it was showing less and was actually worth what I paid so I asked them to sell metals, gold and Silver, and was then told that I would lose 40% of my investment if I sold now and that I should wait 4-5 years. Then I purchased the metals at retail and that they only pay wholesale when you go to sell the metals. This would mean that gold and silver prices would have to go up 40% just to break even.

When you move money from one IRA to another the value should remain the same less brokers fees and account creation fees, not 40% of your investment. Monetary Gold will take your money, they win you lose. Ask to read their RECITALS (agreement), the section on Arbitration and Confidentiality. It's designed so if you do go to Arbitration and win you are not able to share the outcome with other investors. It's a huge scam ripping off investors money and getting away with it.

My wife put in a certain amount of money on Monetary Gold, but then that was not what she ended up with in the amount of gold and silver that she purchased. It was almost cut in half and she was really very upset about the whole deal. I purchased from them as well and my experience with their reps was pretty fuzzy. There were some things that could have been divulged a little bit more fee-wise and that might have affected the way we conducted business with Monetary Gold. Also, when we were looking on their website, we couldn't find the gold products that we bought at all which made us think that maybe these things weren't real.

Buyer Beware:

Physical Gold and Silver buyers are purchasing bullion and proofs for their IRA based on the retail price of the metals. The retail price includes the Spot Price + Premiums. In some cases, dealers will even add on fees including a commission or transaction fee. 

When you transfer $50,000 to an SDIRA and buy physical metals. You are not getting $50,000 of silver or gold. There is the premium and that premium could be 5% over the spot price or you could be paying upwards of 40% or more.

When you get your statement the value of your metals will be based on the current spot price. Individuals who buy metals need to be aware that they are paying a premium, which is not immediately recoverable if you choose to sell or flip your coins. IRA Dealers will recommend a hold between 5 and 10 years to recover any premiums paid. 

No precious metals dealer can guarantee that the price of metals will increase in the future. There is no way to determine future pricing. As the buyer, you need to understand precious metals investing and do your due diligence before you buy.

Their articles and videos also were fairly old when speaking of current market conditions and the spot price of gold or silver. It is likely to receive the No Fees for Life IRA you most likely are required to go through their custodian and depository. Make sure you understand all the fine print and information before you open an account or roll over any retirement funds.

Understand the difference between bullion and proof coins. While American Eagle Coins appear to be similar there is a difference between bullion coins and proof coins. The process of minting the Proof coins is more involved and the finish of the product is pristine. The idea behind a proof coin is that is not a circulated coin and is a collector coin. While having the same face value as its counterpart the bullion coin, the premiums attached to these coins are higher.

As we mentioned previously Patriot Gold Group is a relatively young company in the Gold IRA Dealer business. They started in 2016, while the company is new, the individuals behind the business have a combined 50 years of experience in the financial markets.

Matter of fact there are no customer complaints or reviews at the BBB and the BCA has no complaint experience. Meaning, they have no complaints to rank the company. One review we found on Yelp, in which there is only one review, indicated their sales technique was fear related and they did not appreciate this type of sales tactic. 

Keep in mind there are paid services that promote positive reviews on websites. It's hard to believe there have been no negative reviews other than that Yelp review. But, without any further information indicating a negative experience we have to believe they are legit. 

Overall, given the new nature of the business and the lack of negative reviews, we believe Patriot Gold Group appears to be a viable option to contact for a Gold IRA.

Working with a Gold IRA dealer should be about finding a dealer that has extensive experience in the precious metals niche, along with knowledge and educational training, and who wants to work with you to make a precious metals buying plan. 1. The videos and articles on their website appear to be old, between 2016 and 2019
2. There was no education offered for FREE online. It appeared that one has to contact them for information
3. The company is only 7 years old
4. There are only positive reviews - not that a company can't be perfect, but when you check out The Plug's Gold IRA Company reviews you will find negative comments for all Gold Dealers. The online gold retailers have the worst reviews and even the good Gold IRA companies have negative reviews.

The Securities Division ordered the Respondents to cease and desist from violating the Commodity Transactions Act of Washington. Wow! If you read one customer complaint regarding Regal Assets, then you've read them all! What I am reporting has happened repeatedly. I invested with Regal Assets in late November 2021 to purchase silver and gold for my IRA. It is now mid-July 2022 and Regal Assets has done nothing except make empty promises. The gold and silver haven't been delivered and my money hasn't been returned. My money is missing, and I am crazy worried. This has been the worst financial decision I have ever made. This scam has been reported several times according to the customer reviews with the BBB regarding Regal Assets. Stay away from Regal Assets!

I transferred an IRA acct to Regal Assets to purchase precious metals back in late March 2022. My CNB Custody acct. doesn't reflect the precious metals ever being delivered to the Delaware Depository Services as of today (7/12/22). I've called, sent text and emails to Regal Assets contacts multiple times and they tell me it's been delivered recently. Just hasn't showed up in my account yet. I am starting to lose faith that the delivery will ever be made. Hoping to get help with this situation. I either want the precious metals to be delivered and credited/showing in my acct. or I want the funds back so I can take my funds elsewhere.

In April 2021 I opened an account with Regal Assets. I transferred funds to them and was told it would take 3-5 weeks for Regal Assets to purchase the metals and get the vault report sent to my IRA. It's now January of 2022 and proof of the purchase/ and the vault report have yet to be produced. They have continually put me off with promises that it will be "updated in a few days" and then they disappear for a few weeks before coming back with another promise to send the vault report to my IRA. I'm pretty sure at this point that my money is gone - either a complete con job or a Ponzi scheme at best. Avoid this place like the plague.

Customer Complaints - all four complaints found at BCA involve the purchase of precious metals and several months of non-delivery. In all cases, the complainant indicates several correspondences between Regal Assets and themselves either via email or text message. All indicate the issue is continued promising of precious metals being delivered to vaults. Three of the complaints asked for their money back and one asked for their precious metals to be deposited.

Large Unidentified Charges

I moved Traditional and Roth IRA's through Regal Assets in order to acquire silver IRA's. After funds were available one IRA transaction completed in 20 days, the other in 44 days. Not told why the 2nd transaction took three more weeks to process. Immediately lost 29 (or more) of initial funding value once the transactions posted. Understand variance between buy and estimated sell prices but also recognize there is nowhere near that much variance.

Before the 2nd IRA transaction had processed I asked for a written break-down of costs and expenses charged to me in order to understand the staggering initial loss in value. I also specifically stated I did not want the second IRA transaction to proceed until my questions were answered. Repeated requests resulted in double talk about not being able to readily value silver, no figures provided. Regardless of current value, want to know what expenses and charges were incurred. Account Rep only wanted to talk on the phone, not put anything in writing as requested multiple times. Available disclosures initially provided point towards $500 or less in charges (as opposed to many thousands). Response was to point to shipping, handling and insurance although Regal Assets refuses to identify how much that was. Regal Assets is understandably in business to make a profit, so why not be up front about what those costs are to conduct IRA transactions through them? I don't expect to be able to recoup the losses I experienced up front by doing business with Regal Assets.

I don't know why one IRA was process in 20 days and the 2nd in 44 days. In between the first IRA processing and the 2nd IRA processing is when I requested Regal Assets not to proceed with the 2nd transaction which they did late during my written discussion seaking answers.

Granted I am not a large investor, although that makes the nearly $7,500 hit all the more damaging.

Recommend getting a detailed accounting of all charges and costs up-front before doing business with Regal Assets.

He was very personable, gave good advice and did everything perfectly. He returned calls and messages very timely. I would readily recommend Regal Assets to others.

After completing our research on Regal Assets we have come to the conclusion they would be a viable option for those investors that are looking to start a gold IRA. The smaller initial investment allows for more people to opt into this diversified investment opportunity.
