SWECC STANDOUT GARNERS FULL-RIDE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

Kansas City Public Schools is excited to announce that Southwest Early College Campus senior Wasiba Hamad has been selected to receive a prestigious Bloch Scholarship. The award will cover 100 percent of her tuition to first get her two-year degree from Donnelly College in Kansas City, KS, and then her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. It is estimated that the scholarship has a total value of $42,000! This is a great honor for an outstanding student and young woman. In addition to excelling in academics, Ms. Hamad participates in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program at SWECC; she was named the KCPS All-City Commander for the 2015-2016 school year. In addition, she is a member of the 2015-2016 Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Student Board of Directors.
