Seven talented scholars at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy and East High School took their next steps towards achieving their educational and careers dreams by signing college letters-of-intent this week.
The student-athletes who will be signing letters-of-intent include:
Kalyn Davis (Lincoln Prep football) – Running back with a 3.38 grade-point-average who will attend the University of St. Mary. Davis is All-Conference and All-District, rushed for 1,275 yards and scored 25 touchdowns.
Willie Taylor (Lincoln Prep football) – Center with a 2.837 GPA who will attend the University of St. Mary. Taylor is All-Conference and a three-year starter.
Adrian Ruiz-Gonzales (Lincoln Prep football) – Kicker with a 3.245 GPA who will attend the University of St. Mary. Ruiz-Gonzales was All-Conference the last two seasons and is 21-25 on extra point attempts.
Duane Clayton (Lincoln Prep football) – Defensive back with a 3.2645 GPA who will attend the University of Central Missouri. Clayton is an All-District, All-State four-year starterwith 11 interceptions, 89 tackles and three fumble recoveries.
Alon Smith (Lincoln Prep football) – Outside tackle/linebacker with a 3.02 GPA who will attend the University of Central Missouri. Smith is a three-year starter and was All-Conference the last two years.
Luis Herrera (Lincoln Prep soccer) – Forward with a 3.22 GPA who will attend Metropolitan Community College-Blue River.
Xanthanus Pierro (East High School football, basketball and track) – Football wide receiver and safety, basketball point guard and shooting guard, and track runner in the 100, 200 and 4X1 with a 2.3 GPA who will attend Graceland University.
