Over February, students at Success Academy at Knotts learned about popular, along with not-so-well-known, African-Americans as part of Black History Month. An annual celebration of achievements by African Americans, students learned about the role of blacks in U.S. history throughout the month. The month culminated in a final celebration, showcasing what they learned through song, dance, spoken word and more.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, Knotts hosted Reflections: A Celebration of Black History for parents, staff and special guests. Spear-headed by Knotts choir director Stephanie Meade, students from all grades were part of the celebration.
