During this year’s Open House at Lincoln Preparatory College Academy on Thursday, Aug. 24, students, families, faculty and staff celebrated the official opening of the new library and cafeteria with a ribbon cutting.
The cafeteria, once located on the fourth floor of the historic building, is now on the main floor and features an expanded dining area allowing for more students to eat at one time and decreasing the number of lunch periods needed throughout the course of the day.
Now located on the fourth floor, the new library was designed to offer a space that engages students and sparks creativity. Students can work together in the collaboration area, explore talents in the maker space and enjoy a refreshment at the coffee bar.
“It was very exciting to be a part of the design process,” Lincoln Librarian Brook Fuendling said. “We received a lot of support from KCPS Central Office and Lincoln parents. The result is amazing.”
Thank you to all of the parents and students for joining us to celebrate. To see photos from the event, visit the KCPS Flickr site.
