CrossFit is all the rage! That’s because the workouts are intense and short, taking about five to twenty minutes to complete. Plus, there are no restrictions to where you can do it – at home or in the gym. Many claim it is the answer to fitness they’ve been looking for. But is it for you?

CrossFit incorporates a mix of strength training, plyometrics, endurance and body weight exercises in a circuit format. One exercise follows right after the next with very little rest in between. Try these CrossFit inspired workouts at home or in the gym.

  • Beginner CrossFit workout: 5 burpees/ 5 push ups/ 15 squats – performed in as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes.
  • Intermediate CrossFit workout: 10 burpees/ 15 push ups/ 45 second plank/ 15 jump squats – performed in as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes.

As with all workouts, remember to make sure the exercises you are performing are right for you. Check with your doctor before beginning a new exercise program.
