Central Academy of Excellence hosted its first annual Science Fair April 13. This event hosted over 1200 Kansas City metropolitan area students. Attendees had the opportunity to try a variety of hands-on science experiments, science fair displays and technology demonstrations.
Developed by Central Academy Principal Anthony Madry along with Central Science Department Chairperson Ikyra Robinson, the Science Fair event was designed to share the exciting opportunities within the world of science with students in a hands-on, discovery format.
“We wanted to give students an opportunity to have fun with Chemistry, Physics and Anatomy,” Robinson said. “With an interactive Science Fair, students connect the dots between what we do in class and real world applications.”
Hands-on activities included:
- Alien Toothpaste
- Gak Slime
- Kinetic Sand
- Specimen Dissection
- Rover Races
- Robotics Competitions
- And more
