What factors influenced your decision to become a teacher? Identify what you consider to be your greatest contributions to and accomplishments in education.
My fifth-grade teacher, Cheryl Thompson (Rev. Nelson Fuzzy Thompson), was my most significant influence. My most significant contribution is the love I have for children. I share my passion and enthusiasm every day with the children in my class. My goal is for every child, my student or not, to feel safe and loved. My greatest accomplishment is modeling for our students how to turn every negative into a positive, creating an optimistic attitude.

Describe a project or initiative that you have led or been involved with that contributed to increasing equity in education and opportunity for students in your school.
I planned a lesson around nutrition and talked about healthy eating not only at school but at home. The children were provided with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to create healthy snacks. The children, in return, shared the information with their families.
