A record-breaking number of education professionals turned out for the 2016 Kansas City Public Schools Career Fair Jan. 30 at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts. Staff with the KCPS Department of Human Capital Management (HCM), who worked hard for months to organize the fair, welcomed well more than 200 people. The turnout this year exceeded previous KCPS Career Fairs. The event was an opportunity for people to learn more about career opportunities in KCPS and to interview on-site with HCM staff and district administrators. There were participants who were seeking both certified teaching positions and classified positions that support classrooms, schools and other vital areas of KCPS. The fair is part of the ongoing effort by KCPS to attract the very best educators, support staff and administrators. It was a huge success, according to HCM Director Jennifer Collier. “We’re thrilled,” she said. “We had some really top-flight candidates, and the turnout is a sign that KCPS is becoming a first-choice for educators across the nation and region. The future looks bright for Team KCPS!”
