Harris-Stowe President Dr. Dwaun Warmack and Dean of Student Success Emmanual Lelande, members of their administrative team and a group of Harris-Stowe student-leaders spent about two hours at SWECC on Thursday, March 10. The stop was part of the university’s “Dollars for Scholars” tour. About 25 SWECC students learned about academic opportunities and got a sneak peek at campus life at Harris-Stowe.

President Warmack talked with the SWECC students about his own background growing up in urban Detroit and the combination of hard work and help it took for him to succeed. He pledged that his administration would consider giving the students a legitimate opportunity at attending the school if they promised to put in the effort and commitment necessary to achieve their goals. At the end of the event, SWECC seniors Kiz-Juan Sherrell, Omni Swinton and Sh’Kenna Collins signed scholarship offers from Harris-Stowe.
