Sixteen Kansas City Public Schools scholars have earned spots in the elite Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Student Board of Directors for the 2015-2016 school year. This year’s cohort of student board members started their tenure during a launch event Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the bank. The group includes the following KCPS students:
African-Centered College Preparatory Academy
Central Academy of Excellence
East High School
Lincoln College Preparatory Academy
Northeast High School
Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts
Southwest Early College Campus
The Student Board of Directors program promotes teamwork and inclusion among high schoolers from diverse backgrounds, while fostering an understanding of the primary functions of the Federal Reserve Bank and the Kansas City economy, the importance of personal finance, career options and educational paths.
Bank participants have an opportunity to work with and learn from bank staff in Kansas City, academic experts, and business and community leaders.
