What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.  Mindfulness has been proven to help adult and children through anxiety and difficult situations.

Who should practice mindfulness?
Anyone can practice mindfulness. There are no barriers. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what your physical ability is, if you’re religious or not.

Mindfulness activity for children or adults: Calming Breath
1. Take a long, slow breath in through your nose, first filling your lower lungs, then your upper lungs.
2. Hold your breath to the count of “three.”
3. Exhale slowly through pursed lips, while you relax the muscles in your face, jaw, shoulders, and stomach.
