Leave behind the stress and traffic of big cities and explore the great outdoors with your family. Whether staying close or traveling to a national park, camping offers lots of activities like biking, rafting, canoeing and relaxing by the campfire. If camping for the first time, take note of these camping essentials.

Tent, sleeping bags, cot, air mattress or thick pad – depends on space and number of people per tent

Coolers – take two; one for food and one for drinks

Camp stove – if a grill is not available

Food – anything easily cooked over your stove or campfire

Flashlights and extra batteries

Toiletries, sunscreen, bug spray, matches, folding chairs, plates and utensils
