Woodland Early Learning School Celebrates New Mural

Renowned artist José Faus attends Nov. 16 unveiling and public reception


Kansas City, Nov. 16, 2017:  Kansas City Public Schools, the Kansas City Local Investment Commission (LINC) and the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce hosted an unveiling celebration and reception for a new public art project from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 at Woodland Early Learning Community School, which is located at 711 Woodland Ave. in Kansas City, Mo.

The celebration featured the official debut of a new mural painted at the school by artist José Faus, who was be on-hand along with students, parents, officials, staff and administrators from the school, KCPS, LINC and the Chamber.

Faus is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer who was born in Columbia but spent most of his childhood in the Kansas City region and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is renowned around the world for his community-centered public works of art and his passion for art education.
