Students Around KCPS Celebrate High Attendance


The official student attendance count day for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is Sept. 27. Schools throughout Kansas City Public Schools celebrated their attendance goals with incentive field trips, special events, pizza parties and more.

KC Wolf made a surprise appearance at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School to help students celebrate count day and congratulate the school’s high attendance marks.

Trailwoods Elementary School second grade teacher Ms. Rackers treated her students to a pizza party for having some of the highest attendance in their school.

Longfellow Elementary School Principal Jimmie Collier-Bullard passed out special “Hawk Bucks,” which can be cashed in for prizes, to students who had high attendance this month.
