Kansas City, February 4, 2030: As Kansas City Public Schools works to improve our school system to better serve all students through the Blueprint 2030 initiative, we are seeking feedback from the community to help guide our efforts.
There are several opportunities for parents and community members to help shape the future of KCPS. Not only do we want to ensure that we capture our community’s perspective, but we also seek your help highlighting these opportunities and encouraging the community to participate.
- Parent and Community Survey: As KCPS works to improve our school system, we need to better understand what drives school enrollment/transfer decisions in the Kansas City region. Help KCPS by taking a few minutes to complete our Parent and Community Survey. The survey is available in English, Spanish, Burmese or Swahili and will be open until mid-February.
- Focus Groups: Hanover Research, a third party market research firm, will be conducting focus groups with parents, community partners, education funders and staff to better understand their perceptions of KCPS. The focus groups will be hosted February 18-20, 2020. Individuals interested in participating in a focus group can sign-up here: www.KCPublicSchools.org/FocusGroup
- Blueprint 2030 Advisory Team: An advisory team of staff, students, parents, civic organizations and community members will help guide the development of Blueprint 2030 recommendations. The advisory team will meet regularly between February and Fall 2020. Individuals/organizations interested in serving on the Advisory Team are invited to email KCPS.
