Kansas City, Jan. 9, 2018: Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts will be hosting a special program to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in the main auditorium at the school, which is located at 4747 Flora Ave. in Kansas City, Mo.
This program is free and open to the public. The national holiday for Dr. King is Monday, Jan. 15.
Paseo Academy Principal Debra Powell will open the program, followed by a special presentation by Paseo Academy School Advisory Committee Chair and class of 1996 alumnus Melvin Brown. Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church Pastor and Paseo Academy class of 1994 alumnus Corey Scott will be the guest speaker.
