Kansas City, January 31, 2017: Kansas City Public Schools is hosting its next Family Literacy Night from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 at Hartman Elementary School, which is located at 8111 Oak St. in Kansas City, Mo.
The program on Feb. 2 will focus on learning how to get kids excited about reading non-fiction. All KCPS families interested in learning how to encourage and support reading and writing at home are welcome to attend this event.
This is one of a series of Family Literacy Nights held throughout the school year that are intended to be an opportunity to practice fun and engaging reading and writing activities that attendees can share at home with their families.
The Family Literacy Night will include free food and home literacy materials. In order to ensure that there is enough food and material on-hand, family members who plan to attend are asked to RSVP by email to CIPD@kcpublicschools.org.
