In celebration of National Mentorship Month, Kansas City Public Schools is highlighting the tremendous people who volunteer their time every week to be a positive role model in the lives of our students.
Mentor: Jesse Lange
Occupation: Senior Planner, KCPS
Mentorship program: Success Mentors at Gladstone, Lead to Read at Garfield. It’s Jesse’s first year as a Success Mentor and his fourth year as a Lead to Read volunteer.
Why are you serving as a mentor?
“I love working with kids and seeing them make progress! I spend most of my days at the KCPS central office, so I really enjoy being able to get out into the schools and interact with students. The mentor programs allow me to develop strong relationships with students and support academic achievement.”
