KCPS Hosting April 25 Vendor Workshop for Lincoln MS Project

Event is focused on opening opportunities for minority- and women-owned businesses

Kansas City, April 16, 2018:  Kansas City Public Schools is hosting an informational workshop for potential vendors for the Lincoln Middle School construction project. The workshop will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25 at the BOE, 2901 Troost Ave. in Kansas City, Mo.

KCPS is particularly seeking vendors that qualify as┬áMinority (MBE) and Women (WBE) Business Enterprise firms. The goal is to ensure that these types of firms have an excellent opportunity to participate and compete for KCPS purchases and contracts, to influence the depth and diversity of the vendor pool by promoting fair and open access for KCPS business opportunities, to strengthen the school system’s economic vitality and to assist in getting the best price and value.

Last fall, the KCPS Board of Directors approved the reopening of the school site at 2012 E. 23rd St. as the new home of Lincoln College Preparatory Academy Middle School. This school is scheduled to open for the 2019-2020 academic year and will serve sixth, seventh and eighth graders.

Lunch will be provided free of charge. Registration for the workshop is open to the first 100 participants. Visit www.kcpublicschools.org/SupplierDiversity to learn more about the KCPS Supplier Diversity Program and to register for this workshop.
