KCPS FAFSA Day is Saturday, Jan. 28

High school seniors can get help applying for college financial aid before Missouri's Feb. 1 priority deadline

Kansas City, January 24, 2017: Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) and the Missouri College Advising Corps (MCAC) are hosting the KCPS FAFSA Day for high school seniors and their parents from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at Central Academy of Excellence, which is located at 3221 Indiana Ave. in Kansas City, Mo.

KCPS FAFSA Day is an opportunity for seniors to get guidance and assistance from MCAC experts with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. FAFSA completion is required for students who want to receive college financial aid through state and/or federal programs.

Any student and his or her parents who wish to participate in KCPS FAFSA Day should bring a laptop and charger, the student’s Social Security number or an alien registration number if he or she is not a U.S. citizen, the parents’ 2015 tax forms or W-2 forms and records of any untaxed income (including Social Security payments, disability assistance, child support, etc.).

In addition to expert guidance on college financial aid, KCPS FAFSA Day will also include raffle giveaways and refreshments.

In Missouri, FAFSA forms are given priority for state college financial aid if they are submitted by Wednesday, Feb. 1.
