Kansas City, April 16, 2018: President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Esther George discussed the importance of saving money to a third-grade class at Longfellow Elementary School.
George read the children’s book Uncle Jed’s Barbershop by Margaree King Mitchell. She then discussed banks, savings, money and more themes found in the book with students.
After the reading, students shared some of their own personal dreams and financial aspirations with George. Students then participated in a hands-on activity where they created their own personal business.
