Kansas City, April 18, 2018: Kansas City Public Schools is hosting its first Family Empowerment Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
This event is being held in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank and the FDIC’s Money Smart KC in order to help launch many of the targeted programming and resources that KCPS is going to bring to parents and families under the banner of, “Family Empowerment.”
KCPS is working to ensure that a diverse population of families and select community partners are in attendance to not only enjoy the networking and fellowship but also receive targeted resources during some outstanding breakout sessions, including:
- Financial Literacy and Economic Mobilization
- Civic Engagement and Community Advocacy
- Parent Advocacy for the Exceptional Education Landscape
