Kansas City, Aug. 11, 2019: The Central High School Blue Eagles are ready to reach new heights.
Central High School hosted its 2019 Back to School Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the school, which is located at 3221 Indiana Ave. in Kansas City, Mo.
The fair included a fun festival atmosphere with food and games, free haircuts and entertainment. Families were able to meet teachers and school leaders, plus get their children enrolled. There were sports physicals available, and a college and career fair. There was also a celebration of the Central Alumni Educational Foundation and the Central Alumni Organization.
A ceremony to officially unveil a new sign with the name “Central High School” took place at 11:30 a.m. Earlier this year, the Kansas City Public Schools Board of Directors approved a motion to change the name from “Central Academy of Excellence” back to its historic name.
The motto of Central High School is, “Love, Honor, Respect.” As one of the most comprehensive, competitive educational environments in the city, Central offers a state-of-the-art facility, a full range of high school sports, along with a comprehensive array of extracurricular opportunities.
