Kansas City, Oct. 23, 2017: More than 70 volunteers from AT&T and City Year donated their time and talents during a day of service on Friday, Oct. 20 at East High School.
The “Care Force” volunteer workday was a joint effort by the telecom company’s Kansas City office and City Year’s national headquarters. Care Force was created to engage corporations and their employees in high-impact volunteer events to help improve schools and communities.
Participants worked on a variety of projects across the campus, including landscaping, improvements to the school’s educational farm facility, and painting murals on the inside of the school to promote various college and career and technical education programs. This event was a good example of how Kansas City Public Schools is leveraging community resources in order to support students and help schools improve.
