How are you working to increase equity in education and opportunity for students in your school?
The Head Start curriculum Project Construct has opened up the curiosities of our 3 to 5-year-old students. They are given freedoms to explore their world in so many imaginable ways. Hands-on projects and activities that also include the basic skills they will need in kindergarten. It is exciting to watch these children’s minds develop into researchers of their environment, collaborating and solving problems with peers, forming relationships. It’s my job to serve as the guide and ensure the children have the materials they need. It is the main reason I love being in the classroom!

What message about public education do you want to share?
As professionals in the education field, first and foremost it is important for us to all support each other as humans first, educators second. Have mutual understanding and respect. Work as a team towards the common goal of providing the best education possible for our children. Teamwork makes the dream work!
