How are you working to increase equity in education and opportunity for students in your school?
My personal initiative is to set an example, either consciously or unconsciously, that each one of us contributes to the culture of my classroom and or this school building. One act of kindness can set a tone for the rest of someone’s day or career in the field of education. It is my daily goal to be a positive contributor; henceforth or hereby communicating We All Make a Difference in the learning and transmitting of knowledge to succeeding generations. I personally feel that my role is to be a role model to every educator in increasing equity in education for all students.
What message about public education do you want to share?
Treat others the way that you want to be treated. Be a positive role model. Be yourself. Work hard. Set achievable goals. Encourage others. Make a positive difference in other’s lives. Invest in your future. Show genuine love and concern. Forgive. Make someone’s day every day. Don’t take each other for granted. Believe in yourself and what you’re doing. Perform to the best of your strength and ability each day. Learn from your fumbles and mistakes. Take time for one another. Share. Love. Change. Believe that you are making a positive difference however small/big you might think it is. Teachers need to be reminded that education is the paramount or foundation to everything that we do. You are so important! Stand tall! Stand bold! Don’t give up! Children are children. It is our responsibility to give them our best to help them achieve their goals. We help to mold everyone in this world. We make a difference! We are all in this together!
