WHAT MOTIVATED YOUR CAREER IN EDUCATION?
“I believe that helping students formulate dreams and aspirations in order to increase their willingness to learn is my greatest contribution in education. I say this because the students I encountered in the state of Florida and the students I have encountered in Kansas City, Missouri often come from very difficult situations. Many of these students have experienced situations I never thought about as a child growing up. Despite having those experiences, however, these students must learn and achieve academically and socially in order to reach their fullest potential.”
WHAT MESSAGE ABOUT PUBLIC EDUCATION DO YOU WANT SHARE?
“The lack of social skill development in students will resurface further down the educational road as behavioral issues and detract from instructional time. This is important to me as a teacher because the resultant behavioral issues create another impediment to teaching and learning.”
Such an honor, and well deserved!!
