On Thursday, October 4, Southeast High School’s senior Unya Hall was the first Kansas City Public Schools district high school senior to sign their letter of intent to play collegiate sports for a college or university. Hall signed to play volleyball with Park University – Parkville Campus.
A scholar-athlete, Hall currently has a 3.6 GPA and has played on the varsity volleyball team since her sophomore year. Hall also plays basketball in the winter and competes in track and field in the spring.
“Unya has become a strong, positive role model for our students,” Southeast High School Volleyball Coach Christin Collins said. “I cannot be more proud of her dedication to her studies as well as her athletic career. She took the initiative and reached out to Park’s coach. Unya has become a great leader and I am excited about her future at Park University.”
Hall received a partial volleyball scholarship to complement the scholarship she received from KC Scholars.
